If I don't come last

Father, for you to come first,

I shall come last.

It doesn't matter how much I pray,

It doesn’t matter if I fast,

I've gotta obey, I've gotta come last.

For my future to be delivered,

And so that you forget my past,

I have to repent, I have to come last.

I can read the whole bible,

Slowly & steady or quickly & fast,

But all that loses its value,

If it's not to come last.

I might reach each individual,

I can preach to the mass,

It won't have any power if I don’t come last.
